How Quality Standards set in the Commodity Industry

Commodity markets need well-established quality standards.

Every industry sets quality standards for their products. These are determinant for the development of the industry, as well as to set the general goods' value on the market. Businesses focus on creating a quality standard with lower and higher margins for each product. But this is no arbitrary decision. There's a whole process behind them that makes these standards effective for the market where they are set. For most industrial activities, these quality standards are established after careful studies per product, with several factors taken into account.

The upper and lower quality margins can be adjusted according to the requirements of the market where these products will establish. The broader product categories consider all their characteristics, as they play an important part in the norms that are used to define the individual standards. This is done through the investigation of the goods' uses and their basic composition, as well as the conditions that can be considered damaging for those elements. For example, certain food products are more prone to pests (like wheat is to certain insects). That means that the quality standard has to contain an indication of the product's tolerance to these pests, even if they are small numbers. This of course, also depends on the use of the product.

Any industrial activity will require the specification of what an ideal product should look like for that particular area. This ‘look’ is not only regarding the aspect. It also implies flavor, texture, freshness and other characteristics, depending on the nature of the product. The intended use will also play a fundamental role in the quality normative. Products that are going to be consumed (with little to no processing) by humans need to have a different normative regarding chemicals and pests than those that are going to be manufactured and form part of the alimentation process for cattle, for example. While that’s an arbitrary example, it’s what most business use as a general guideline: depending on the origin and future use of the material, they set norms.

These will often be related to the consumer safety, but they can also refer to the particularities of the market. For example, certain products have a higher quality standard per country, such as coffee in Colombia or cacao in Venezuela. Both countries focus on exporting the highest-quality material according to their industry, meaning individual set characteristics for these products, as the purity and flavor profiles. And many industries do the same. Focusing on those particular aspects, they define what can be tolerated as a ‘flaw’ and lower quality standards, while the higher standards are set based on purity and general value of the product in that location.

Did you know that these standards variate per industry and even within the category of product? Commodities are an ever changing market, that according to many experts, evolves at an incredibly fast pace. For that reason, staying on top of those changes, especially those related to the products' quality, is fundamental for a successful work. Coagro Corp focuses on it and makes sure to know the current quality standards to acquire the best raw materials for their clients. What are Product Satisfaction Levels?

What most people don't know is that products are indeed rated by the satisfaction they generate on consumers.

Customers are the most important elements for a company. Yes, even though the products are relevant for your business, you need to remember that the raison d'être of your business is satisfying a need. This is the base of your operation and the reason why, at the end of the day, you are working in your particular field. But how do you measure the objective reason why your company or brand is appealing to your customers? How do you make sure to stay on top of the fulfillment of their needs? That is done through the study of product satisfaction levels within your offering.

What are product satisfaction levels?
In short, they are the levels by which any company or business, related to the selling of products and services, fulfill the needs of their consumers. These can be measured by the qualities of the product and the effect they have on the consumer's opinion or the fulfillment of their needs. The information provided by the study of this levels can help you correct some details that prevent your business to succeed.

These levels, however, are not numerical in form. While numbers can indeed measure them, it’s the empirical value of their assessment what makes them important. They are methods to allow businesses a way of ensuring they stay at the top of their game and always offer products or services to potential customers according to their feedback.

For providers and manufacturers, the product satisfaction levels are of particular importance: they are the reason why they go to a specific company. They are the reason why some users are loyal; not only for monetary benefits but also for the quality and general value of the products. But what are these levels exactly?

  • Core benefit: This is the top level of the product satisfaction pyramid. It implies the fulfillment of the need of your customer base and the reason why they buy your product in the first place. Identifying the core benefit can help the way in which you focus your sales and processing.
  • Generic qualities: Think of this as the vessel for your product. It can be the method by which you provide your customers with the element they are looking. The generic benefit is complementary to the core and is often a good 30% of the overall reason why customers acquire what you offer.
  • Expected element: The consideration of this benefit is key for brands to assess the characteristics expected by their customers. It requires brands to identify the benefit that their consumers are looking for in the purchase. It’s the “package” of your product, the way it is presented or showcased to appeal to customers.
  • Augmented qualities: These are the complementary features that make your product unique. What makes it superior to the other options? This is the core question to identify the qualities that augment its appeal in the competitive market of your particular niche.
  • Potential characteristics: How is your product useful to your customers outside a particular field? How could they use it to create something else? Unless it’s a personalized design or element, the potential characteristics that the product acquire to complement others are part of the overall satisfaction process of your customers.
  • Compliance factor: Products need to comply with a set of rules on specific fields. These, depending on the nature of the product, can be quantitative, qualitative or empirical, but the compliance to them ensure satisfaction from customers.

Ensuring that your offering satisfies the needs of whoever buys from you is a way or guaranteeing economic success for both parties in any commercial relationship. The attention you give to the characteristics of your product or service is the reason why your current and potential customers will consume over and over your brand.

5 Reasons to Import Raw Material

You should know the benefits of importing your raw material.

From ancient times, the trade business has relied deeply on the needs of the markets. They often find an empty spot, a need of a particular product, and look for ways to create a solution for that shortage. This culture has extended into our modern markets, and many of them still rely on the identification and satisfaction of these needs as a way to achieve success. They satisfy the need of the market by trading goods, and one of the strongest points of this particular business is the importation of raw materials. These companies find a lucrative need (raw materials, for example) and fulfill it.

We must ask what compels companies to import? Here’s a handy list of 5 reasons why people import raw material:

  1. Competitive prices: Because of international trade agreements, season and foreign market advantages, the prices of imported goods can be lower than homeland products.  While you invest the same effort and money, by importing,  you can get more quality raw material with a lower price.
  2. Product exclusivity: Whether by the nature of the land or the local policies, there’s a good chance that one product that you need can't be found in your country. Then, since you can't get it through any other method,  you must import it. Products that have nationally limited production (think of Colombian coffee and Venezuelan Cacao) are often key ingredients to transform the flavor of your manufactured goods, and you can only acquire them through importing.
  3. Quality production: While national products have a certain quality, there are imported goods with higher standards in their lands of origin. Using those imported goods, combined with quality treatment in your manufacturing process, will guarantee products with the best quality.
  4. Business treaties: Governments and manufacturing industries often have relationship trades that are convenient for your business. Whether for the lower transportations cost or full availability of importation services, these benefits will make you think of import business as an excellent opportunity.
  5. Product differentiation: Imported materials frequently offer an extra to any production chain, but the best benefit is the ensuing product differentiation. The characteristics of imported raw materials are directly related to the overall appeal of any business.

The challenges of manufacturing businesses are tightly related to the way they create their products, regardless of their nature. When you want to reach out and own a piece of the market, you need to have quality and a great profit margin to succeed among your competence. You can do that by acquiring high-quality materials to your processes, and importing them is almost the best choice for that matter.

But to do that you need to rely on professional brands that can help you make your business a leader in the field. Coagro Corp is your opportunity to work with practitioners in the commodity trade, that can transform the business you see every day into a great economic opportunity. Sugar Manufacture: The Transformation Process

The base of the production for candy is high-quality sugar.

Sugar is one of the vital elements in manufacturing business. It’s the base of a complete market, and it’s also a common ingredient in billions of other products aside from the candy industry. By itself as refined, brown or white, this is also a key market for manufacturing industries. But before it reaches either of these fields, the sugar is transformed from its raw state to its preferred presentation. How is this process made? Today you’re going to learn it all from the professionals at
Coagro Corp.

The origin of sugar is varied, especially according to the location. In Europe, the preferred source it’s the beet for a variety of reasons, among which is the inability to sustain the production of sugarcane in lower temperature. This is because sugarcane requires copious amounts of water per year, as well as tropical temperatures to grow. Regardless of the source, the process it’s much the same for both of them to get to the table and industries.

Harvesting: Sugar, regardless of its origin, sugarcane and beets are harvested through industrial methods. This makes the production process easier for every part.
Clearing: As natural products, sugarcane and beets need to be cleaned and prepared. This is done by using water to clean them up before going ahead in the processing.
Shredding: After being transported to the plant, the breakdown beings. The product it’s shredded by knives, turning its structure into mush for further processing.
Milling: Sugar mush is then pressed in mills to extract the juice. In this step, the pressing generates several liquids through the process; the most important is called “vesou”. This is the one used to fabricate sugar, and it's high in sucrose levels.
Clearing: Using water and the residual juice from the previous steps. Chemicals are added, most of them are used to separate the impurities from the process.
Crystallization: Sugar is taken into a vacuum, where high temperatures evaporate the excess liquid from the sugar mush. Small grains of sugar are added, and the resulting product it’s called “massecuite.
Centrifugation: The massecuite is then centrifuged to separate sugar per se from molasses, that’s the by-product of the crystallization process. The separated sugar is then dried and packed.

After all is said and done, the resulting product is transported to the industries and companies that transform it or package it for the market. One of the companies that makes sure that every part of the process it’s perfect for your market is Coagro Corp. They are professionals in the commodity service of sugar, and will make sure that you get the best product possible. Contact them now!

How to Establish a Proper Relationship between Industries and Suppliers

Pick a brand that gives you trust and quality.

Businesses are not a one-man army: companies work along with others to create the final products that you buy in the market. To do so, they often take an idea and transform it into a reality with the help of other people: providers, manufacturers and distributors. This tightly wounded web of connections works only for one reason: good relationships. You, as a business owner, need to establish a proper relationship between your company and the rest of the components of your market, depending on what you offer. How to do it is a science that you can learn today with the help of Coagro Corp.

The proper relationship between industries and suppliers is reached through several steps that you need to follow to achieve the best results, regardless of your role in the production chain:

  • Create communication channels:  Establishing the proper communication channels is vital to create a good relationship. Many mistakes occur due to lack of correct information from business members, whether as providers or industries.
  • Take responsibility: Companies and service providers need to make sure that each one does their part in the business association. Founding a responsible relationship is the way to create a secure and lasting connection with each other.
  • Encourage fidelity: While this doesn’t sound like something you might want in the business service, you need to take into consideration that fidelity goes a long way. Jumping from one service provider to another will create problems for you, as this often leads to bad reputation and problematics in logistic operations.
  • Use realistic time frames: Suppliers and industries need to have products ready to work in certain time frames. Trying to force a service provider into reaching an impossible deadline, and even asking for impossible deliveries, create tensions with providers. These can even sever lines of work and your company services. Work with logic time frames and both parts will be grateful.
  • Recognize value: Your industry or service provider appreciate the value you give them. Make sure to communicate the importance they have for you and treat them accordingly. This often leads to a more stable and positive service for both parts.
  • Create positive rapport: Connecting with your service provider or buyer positively, aside from the commercial process, goes a long way. Establish communication, encourage visits and, above all, implement the other elements of a proper relationship methods to create lasting relationships.

Companies that recognize the value of each member of their work chain, from the small provider to the big industry, are often the ones that grow over time. These relationships create incredible business opportunities and produce perfect products every time. Why? Because stable labor relations often generate better results for each part, and often lead to bigger business opportunities.

For that reason, Coagro Corp offers a service with quality communication and lasting relationships with industries and suppliers, to ensure that every part of their business agreements is satisfied with the products and service they provide. Transportation Methods in the Importing of Products

Once your products reach your land, they are transported in various methods according to their nature.

The business of importing products move millions of dollars around the world. But this business does comprehend not only money but also complex work strategies. There are different methods to transport tons and tons of material, from raw materials to manufactured goods, according to the location and size of the load. If it's small, it can be transported by air, but when it comes to big amounts, the preferred methods are related to cargo ships.

However, it all depends on the industry and the relation between the desired final location and the exportation place, as these all intervene in how the companies, mostly commodity services, pick the method to take products from place A to place B. But, even so, what exactly these methods are? How do they impact the way the load is transported?

-Air: These are mostly used for delicate products, and for shippings that require special attention. Mostly used for small services, such as door-to-door exportations, and even web shopping, the method of shipping through planes it’s often used in small measures. While not impossible to transport bulks in big planes, these transportation methods are restricted by the limited capacity of the transporting plane.

-Land: This method is used more often in combination with other methods. While it’s not the primary way of transportation in most cases, for importation from countries near the final destination, it can be a more comfortable option. The best thing about this transporting option is that it can carry various presentation of the products, whether raw or manufactured.

-Sea: The most common transportation method for bulk transport is water related.  The bulks are often placed in identified containers, that can be owned by one company and rented to another, or can be owned by the commodity service. These are often used for manufacturing industries, whether to import raw material or to take finished products to their destination. They are also used to transport big products, such as cars.

-Multimodal: It’s a combination of two or more services. These are often used when the imported goods are located far from the seaports or airports, and that require land transport. They can also be related to the limitation of the services that work with them.

All these methods can correlate according to the company you pick to do your shippings. The most common denominator is the effectivity: companies with experience in the importation field know exactly how to combine methods to ensure that your imported products, whether raw or manufactured, reach your desired location. One of such companies is Coagro Corp. They offer transportation services for their imported goods, and consulting services for people in the lookout for a commodity service. Contact them now!

Why Do You Need Business Outsourcing?

You as a business owner, hire a third party to realize a particular activity.

The process of creating a product is not a simple one. From the original idea, through the steps leading to the manufactured good, there are a series of steps that need to be accomplished to generate a top quality product. Most of these steps can be made within the company, but some of them require machinery or processes that you don’t necessarily have. Or you are a small company with an idea but lack the huge budget to get machinery and other things to kickstart your project. What do you do in these situations? You do business outsourcing.

What is business outsourcing?
Business outsourcing is the process of hiring professionals to deliver a manufacturing or other kind of tertiary service to you. This means that you, as a business owner, hire a third party to realize a particular activity that you can’t do, or don’t want to use resources on. This is not an uncommon practice: whether outsourcing importation services or manufacturing processes, almost every business hires a third party to accomplish their market goals at a certain point.

Why do companies need business outsourcing?
Most of the processes in manufacturing companies are expensive and complicated. Most of them require a solid investment in materials and machinery, and that’s not necessarily feasible for a starting business, or one that has several other processes to do. That’s when hiring a third party becomes an option for several reasons.

Bulk production discounts: Third parties often offer bulk discounts on production, and when you hire outsourcing services you can make profitable associations with them.

Access to resources: Outsourcing allows your business to relate to others that have resources you do not. Whether human or industrial, these valuable assets are incorporated in an effective way to your production chain.

Production efficiency: Once you take off the pressure of a part of the production chain, the rest of the processes go smoothly. The outsourcing process enables you to focus on what you can do and increases your productivity.

Of course, there are more reasons to consider business outsourcing as your option, but the main one is the fact that you will be working with professionals that will make sure to offer you the best products and processes available for your business venture.

One of the most common outsourcing options is the importation and product sourcing, and in that field, Coagro Corp is a leader: they work professionally to give you alternatives to acquire raw materials and consulting services to make your business venture a success.
